Top 50 Hair Loss Treatments: #2 Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy

#2 Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy

Revivogen MD Scalp Therapy is the main product in the Revivogen line and is made from the most powerful ingredients to combat thinning hair, enhance its physical appearance, and initiate the hair follicles' growth cycle.  These natural ingredients have been proven to reduce Dihydrotestosterone production (commonly abbreviated as DHT), block the androgen receptors, limit DHT uptake, and enhance rejuvenation for thicker, fuller and healthier hair.

This is potentially one of the most effective, clinically-backed products on the market, and Revivogen is backed with in-depth studies.  The makers set out to create a solution that contains as many known DHT-inhibiting, antiandrogen ingredients as possible. Since no significant amount is absorbed into the bloodstream, there are no side effects, as may be seen with orally-ingested treatments like Propecia, or even other topical solutions such as minoxidil.

How Does Revivogen Work?

The ingredients used in the Scalp Therapy formula have been shown to inhibit the 5-ar enzyme that is responsible for the formation of DHT.  Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is what causes your hair loss. When a man begins to lose his hair, certain genetically programmed follicles begin to develop DHT receptor sites. The DHT attaches itself to these sites and begins to treat the follicle as a foreign object in the body. This chemical change not only affects hair, but it can also cause itching, inflammation, and oiliness. During this time, the follicle, under the attack of DHT, begins to miniaturise with every growth cycle, until after several years, it simply is too small and short to be seen. When the scalp therapy is used, both the formation of DHT and the ability for DHT to attach to receptor sites in the follicle are inhibited.

There are no known side-effects associated with this product.  At over £100 for a box of three, this is a very expensive product, at the higher end of the scale.  This is not FDA approved and should not be mistaken for a cure for male or female pattern baldness. However, this can produce good results in men and women suffering from early stages of thinning hair.
