Balding Male Celebrities: How Bald Are They?

How bald are these celebrities?

The Hair Loss Review Centre takes a look at some of the most famous celebrities and their hairlines. From Jude Law through to John Travolta, here's our list of balding celebrities... and can you guess which ones have had a hair transplant?

RYAN REYNOLDS - NORWOOD 2

The American superstar has slight receding at the temples, but overall thickness throughout the rest of the scalp. Reynolds has a classic case of an early 'maturing hairline'.

ANDY RODDICK - NORWOOD 2

The former tennis player, Andy Roddick, suffers from slight receding at the temples and progressive thinning over the scalp. Now in his 30s, Roddick's balding has been steady process and soon we should see him delve deep into the Norwood 3 zone.

JOHN TRAVOLTA - NORWOOD 3

John Travolta suffered from hair loss much later in his life, seeing clear signs of baldness in his 40s. The famous actor has since had a hair transplant (image below) which has helped him restore the lost hair around his temples and scalp.

JUDE LAW - NORWOOD 3

Jude Law began losing his blonde locks in his 20s, he seems intent on losing his hair gracefully. With major receding at the temples and thinning on the crown, the British actor should act fast if he wants to save the remaining hair he's got left!

CALUM BEST - NORWOOD 3

A recent and well documented hair transplant has dragged Calum Best from an advanced Norwood 3 stage of balding back to a Norwood 1. Best was suffering from thinning all over the top of the head, including receding temples and balding crown. The transplant seems to have helped the reality TV star fill in the hair that was previously lost.

PRINCE WILLIAM - NORWOOD 4

Prince William seemed to have a full head of hair well into his late teens until the baldness suddenly hit him. Now Prince William suffers from Norwood stage 4 balding, meaning he'd need advanced treatment to stand any chance of regaining the locks that he's lost.

RAFA NADAL - NORWOOD 4

Currently at Norwood 4, Rafa Nadal suffers from a very common type of male patterned baldness. The king of clay himself suffers from a consistent thinning across the top of the scalp - the most severe form of hair loss.

W. AXL ROSE - NORWOOD 5+

The Guns N' Roses front-man seemed to be thinning back in his late 20s, but then he disappeared from the limelight for nearly a decade, only to return with a full head of thick hair braids. Now in his 50s, Axl Rose tends to cover his repaired hairline with bandanna's and hats. We can't be too sure of Rose's exact Norwood scaling, but we're guessing he suffered from major receding at the temples and thinning along the scalp, before hair surgery was conducted.
