Best Hair Loss Treatment with No Side-Effects

How To Treat Hair Loss Safely and Effectively

Treating thinning hair can often come with unwanted side-effects, and that is the main reason so many men and women are constantly looking for safe and natural solutions for hair loss.

Chemically based hair loss treatments, such as Finasteride (Propecia) and Minoxidil (Regaine), can often trigger negative side-effects. Common side-effects can include; low libido, impotency, hormone alterations, weight gain, and skin rash.  Some of these side-effects can be very serious, and long-lasting.

In this article, we'll go through some safe and natural alternatives you can try, in order to prevent baldness and thinning hair, both safely and effectively. Most of us do not want to put harsh chemicals into our bodies, therefore here are some healthy products that can prevent hair fall and stimulate hair growth...

Biotin

You will more than likely already be familiar with biotin and its capacity to help promote hair growth. Most effective multi-vitamin hair supplements contain biotin due to its effectiveness for the strands.

Biotin is a B vitamin often recommended for hair health. Since biotin deficiency can lead to thinning of the hair, proponents claim that taking biotin supplements—in pill or tablet form—or using biotin-enriched shampoo and hair products can thicken hair and stimulate hair and nail growth.

The most popular usage of biotin comes in pill form. Taking one biotin pill a day can help increase the speed of hair growth. However, biotin alone will not help prevent hair fall.

Saw Palmetto

Saw palmetto has been found to help block the formation of DHT (the cause of hair loss) in various studies. This American plant extract is often used as a treatment to help slow down and stop hair thinning. It works particularly well when combined with biotin.

An extract of saw palmetto berries may block 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT.  DHT is the molecule responsible for hair loss and also is involved in the enlargement of the prostate. Researchers have found it can slow or stop hair loss too.

Again, as with biotin, saw palmetto is most commonly taken as a pill. You should be careful when taking saw palmetto, because it is highly potent. A daily dosage of between 250mg-400mg should be more than enough. Saw palmetto works particularly well when used in conjunction with hair growth promotes, like biotin.

Multi-Vitamin Supplements

Multi-vitamin supplements offer you a great way to combat hair loss for a number of reasons. Firstly, they tend to combine many hair growth promoters (like biotin) with DHT blockers (like saw palmetto) which makes them highly potent and hard-working.

Multi-vitamin supplements are also convenient, in the sense that you don't have to take numerous vitamins separately throughout the day. Multi-vitamin supplements combine all the crucial hair vitamins so you can consume them at one time, though one convenient pill.

The main point about multi-vitamin supplements is that they actually work. Well, some of them do. These types of products can be highly effectively for treating hair loss, and are often seen as a safe and healthy alternative to drugs like Finasteride.

Natural Remedy

Sandalwood, lavender, rosemary, and thyme oils have been used to treat hair loss for over 100 years. A compound in them is thought to boost hair growth. You can try rubbing one or more of these oils into your scalp for at least two minutes every night. Then, wrap your head in a warm towel to help it absorb.

Onion juice can also help stimulate hair regrowth. There’s not much research on this, but there was a small study tested on people with alopecia areata, which causes patchy hair loss. Half put onion juice on their scalp twice a day; the rest used tap water. After two weeks, 75% of the onion juice group had regrown some hair, compared with 13% of tap water users.

Iron and Zinc

Iron is an absolutely crucial nutrient that helps your body make blood, and low levels of it are linked to hair loss. The reason why isn’t clear, but make sure you eat plenty of iron-rich foods like meat, fish, poultry, tofu, broccoli, and all kinds of greens.

Talk to your doctor before taking iron pills, though. Too much can cause vomiting and constipation. Very high doses can even be fatal. Be sure to take low dosage Iron pills for your safety and health.

Since zinc helps with most processes in your body that keep you alive, it’s no surprise that it also strengthens the follicles under your scalp that nourish your hair. Your body doesn’t have a way to store zinc, so you need some in your diet every day.

If your levels are low, there’s some proof that taking zinc by mouth could help with hair loss, but more research is needed. Your doctor will likely have you try other treatments first. Be sure to find a multi-vitamin supplement that contains at least one of the two (iron or zinc) in it.

Pumpkin Seed Oil

Daily doses of pumpkinseed oil, either taken orally or applied topically, can help with hair growth. While more research is needed, one small study found that men who took four capsules of pumpkin seed oil each day for six months, saw their hair count increase by nearly 50%.

In a similar way to saw palmetto, pumpkinseed oil could block testosterone from changing into a compound called DHT, which is linked to hair loss.

Green Tea

Drink plenty of green tea because it's great for your hair! Its compounds may also help a range of other health issues. It may be a compound called EGCG that helps with hair growth. Researchers saw a difference when they gave balding rats green tea extract for 6 months. But that hasn’t been tested in people.

Most people drink green tea, but if you really can;t stand the taste of it, you'd be better off taking it in supplement form. If so, be sure to take green tea supplements with caution, though. Some contain other compounds that can make you sick.

Stress Less

Believe it or not, stress can be a huge factor in hair loss. Stress often causes temporary forms of alopecia, which can then lead to more serious and permanent forms of baldness.

It's a lot easier said than done, but try to de-stress yourself. There are many ways you can do this, with techniques like meditation, deep breathing, guided imagery, relaxation exercises, or talking to a counsellor. Exercise is also a great option. These are all easy to learn and proven to help ease tension.
