Nutrafol Hair Growth Supplement Review: Does it Work?

How effective is Nutrafol for treating hair loss?

Baldness seems to be an increasing problem for men and women in every day life. A colossal £2 billion is spent on hair loss treatments every year, and that figure will rise further over the years to come.

Nutrafol Hair Growth Supplement is one of the more known multi-vitamin hair supplements on the market, and here, we look into this intriguing product, and try to establish how effective it really is for combating baldness in men and women.

What is Nutrafol Hair Growth Supplement?

Nutrafol is a multi-vitamin supplement designed to reduce hair loss and support healthy hair growth in men and women who suffer from early stages of baldness and thinning hair. There are two Nutrafol supplements - one for men and the other for women.

This hair health supplement is currently developed and formulated in the United States, but is available to purchase from selected locations outside the States. Nutrafol was released to market in 2015, and it has since gone on to become a popular choice of hair supplement.

It should be noted that Nutrafol is not FDA approved as a treatment for baldness - therefore without being medically approved, it is regarded as a cosmetic, not a treatment. However, it does come with a 80% customer satisfaction rating, ranking it as one of the better hair growth supplements on the market.

Nutrafol also has a small range of other products in their line, including hair booster serums, but for the sake of this review, we will stick to reviewing the supplement.

What are the ingredients in Nutrafol?

Nutrafol for Women and Nutrafol for Men both contain a key blend of active ingredients which include Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Biotin, Zinc, Iodine, and Selenium.  The full list of ingredients can be seen on the label below (left hand side).

Both supplements contain similar ingredients, but are differentiated by their 'Synegen Complex' and 'Nutrafol Blend' properties.  You could argue that these terms are just used to make the supplement sound more complex and impressive, but each complex is not revolutionary in any way.

How does the Nutrafol formula treat baldness?

The ingredients in this supplement are designed to help the maintenance of the cells for hair follicles. They can also help build capillaries and improve the blood flow to the scalp, thus stimulating hair growth.  There is no scientific evidence to suggest either of the two Nutrafol supplements can regrow hair.

Much like some of the other leading multi-vitamin hair supplements on the market, Nutrafol uses a combination of Biotin and Saw Palmetto to help reduce the pattern of hair fall and increase the rate of hair growth.

Upon inspection, Nutrafol is a good supplement for hair health, and much like its main competitors, HR23+ and Viviscal, it only uses ingredients that have in some way or another been associated with hair health. This is what you might call a 'proper multi-vitamin hair supplement'.

Nutrafol side-effects?

There have been no reported major negative side-effects from users of Nutrafol supplement, and it is very unlikely for a user to experience any sort of negative side-effects. The formula is only made from safe and natural ingredients, therefore it is unlikely it would cause any complications to your health.

However, it is always advised to speak to your doctor before taking supplements that you are unfamiliar with.

Nutrafol User Reviews

Nutrafol has been fairly well received by users and reviewers since its release in 2015. The rating for Nutrafol across reviewer sites comes to 2.9/5.0, but it is unclear what percentage of the reviews are genuine. Nutrafol has a fairly mixed response on various hair loss forums and communities.

Nutrafol price and where to buy

The standard price for a bottle of Nutrafol Hair Growth Supplement is around £65.00 (73 Euro, or $82.00), which means this product is priced at the very highest end of the market.  One bottle will last for just four weeks.

Nutrafol can be purchased on a subscription plan, which in itself has its pros and cons, but for what it is, we strongly believe Nutrafol is far to expensive.

This product is available in the US, and some selected countries outside the States.

Nutrafol Review: The Verdict

Nutrafol is not a cure for baldness, and nor should it ever claim to be, however, it can help with the maintenance of hair health.  If taken with a well balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, this supplement has the potential to slow down hair shedding and improve overall hair growth.

Nutrafol would need to be taken on a regular basis, and you should not expect to see any sort of visible results until at least 2-3 months of continuous use.  However, it is unlikely you will notice any visible results, particularly if you have exceeded Savin/Norwood 2.

The effectiveness of both supplements seems to be about the same, but results will vary from person to person.

Nutrafol 2019 Rating:  3/5
