January Hair Loss Picks

Hair Loss Treatments for January

Each month we aim to bring you our top hair loss products and treatment recommendations. This month, we look at some treatments that are ideal to take during the peak of winter season. Many hair loss sufferers underestimate the importance of taking extra care of their hair during winter. To get the very best out of your hair, it is crucial to keep your hair strong, during the season when damage and hair fall can be commonly found.

So, in no particular order, here are the eight recommendations for the month of January...

1. Argan Oil based shampoo.

It really doesn't matter what brand of shampoo you use - because let's face it, argan oil is argan oil. Just be sure to get yourself a strong shampoo that has a base of argan oil. This ingredient is rich in protein and excellent for hair health - especially through the cold winter months.

2. OGX Coconut Milk Hair Cream.

If, like many men and women, your main aim is to get your hair looking thicker, then opt for the new Coconut Milk Cream formula by OGX. This stuff will give your hair that extra lift, lasting throughout the whole day. Hair thickening products are good to use in the winter season, as they aid growth, of which is particularly active at this time of the year anyway.

3. Grape Seed Extract Supplement.

Although further tests are needed to prove this theory, grape seed extract has shown positive results in the overall health of hair. Try adding grape seed extract to your daily intake - 100mg should more than suffice.

4. Hairfinity Hair Health Supplement.

This supplement won't work miracles for your hair, but the additives are pretty good for the price. We understand money is tight after the festive season, therefore Hairfinity should provide your hair with some good nutrients, should you not wish to spend more on a more potent supplement.

5. Shea Butter Wheat Protein.

Shea butter is an excellent source of vitamin for hair and skin health. If your hair is starved of protein, it will inevitably suffer. So, get yourself a good protein cream that will strengthen your hair and add that extra thickness you crave.

6. OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo.

We absolutely love the OGX hair range, and so should you. This varied and affordable brand keep churning out gem after gem, and the kukui oil shampoo is certainly no exception. This shampoo is another excellent formula for the maintenance of strong, shiny healthy hair.

7. Alpecin Caffeine Liquid.

It should be noted that the whole Alpecin hair range is for men only. The caffeine liquid is not a shampoo, but rather a topical serum that needs to be applied, left to absorb, and then washed out. Further tests are needed to prove caffeine is an effective inhibitor of hair loss, but for under £10, this serum could well be worth a try.

8. Gingko Biloba Supplement.

Ginkgo biloba has been found to increase circulation and help with hair growth. It does this by increasing blood flow to the peripheral parts of the body, and micro-capillaries. By improving circulation to these capillaries, the body is able to more-effectively deliver oxygen and nutrients to the scalp, thus promoting hair growth.
