How to Stop Hair Loss with Vitamins

Here's how I tackle male pattern baldness with vitamins

Guest post by J. Wilkes.

Beating male pattern baldness was never going to be easy, and so once I started losing my hair in my mid twenties, I realised I should act quickly and do something about it.  After considering topical treatments like Minoxidil and certain shampoos like Alpecin, I eventually decided to go down the vitamins route instead.

Our body needs all the right vitamins and minerals to be at its best, and that doesn't just apply to our skin, nails and energy levels - the same applies to our hair.  The most hair beneficiary vitamins you take, the better chance you will have of having healthier, thicker, better looking hair - and that ultimately means less hair loss!

So, after some research and plenty of trial and error, with the view to avoiding Finasteride, here are some of the vitamins I take every week in order to stop hair loss and help promote hair growth.  They're all safe and free of any unwanted side-effects...

a - Vitamin E

Vitamin E builds capillaries in the body and improved blood flow on the scalp encourages hair growth. Adding 400 IU a day of vitamin E to the diet stimulates the hair follicles that grow hair. Vitamin E can also be massaged into the scalp to encourage blood flow to the scalp. Vitamin E is also excellent for your heart health, so it does come with some additional benefits.

b - Saw Palmetto

Although more tests are needed, Saw Palmetto is heavily related to blocking the formation of DHT (the cause of hair loss). A daily dosage of 250mg of saw palmetto can be enough to help prevent hair fall and severe shedding.  This potent American plant extract has helped me halt the pattern of hair loss.

c - Grape Seed Extract

Grape seed extract is a very potent supplement that acts as an antiallergenic, antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Like Saw Palmetto, Grape Seed extract has also been found to inhibit DHT production, and thus prevent hair follicle damage.  Adding a small dosage of grape seed extract in to your daily diet can benefit your hair hugely.

d - Biotin

Biotin has been called 'hair food' and rightly so since one of the effects seen most often is an increased rate of growth in the hair when taking biotin supplements on a daily basis.  Where saw palmetto prevents hair loss, Biotin actually helps generate stronger, faster growing hair. These two hard working ingredients combine perfectly.

e - Fish Oils

It doesn't matter what brand you use, as long as you use a fish oil supplement, that's the main thing.  Fish oils have shown positive results in maintaining better hair growth, and they work pretty effectively when used in conjunction with a good multi-vitamin hair supplement.

f - Multi-Vitamin Supplement

If you don't like the idea of popping loads of random pills, then consider opting for a multi-vitamin supplement that gives you everything your hair needs, all in one!  Multi-vitamin supplements like HR23+ offer all of the most effective vitamins for your hair, packed into one potent formula.
