Minoxidil, the active ingredient in REGAINE®, reinvigorates shrunken hair follicles – they increase in size and regrow thicker hair over time.

The active ingredient in REGAINE® for Men Foam is Minoxidil. In male pattern baldness, a combination of genetics, hormones, and age causes progressive shrinking of certain scalp follicles and shortening of the hair’s growing cycle. Over time, the active growth phase for hair becomes shorter, producing smaller and finer hairs with each cycle. Eventually, there may be no growth at all.

REGAINE® Foam and Solution contain the active ingredient minoxidil, the only over-the-counter treatment clinically proven to help prevent further hair loss. Using REGAINE® twice daily can even reverse the process, resulting in regrowth.

Minoxidil works by helping the blood flow to the hair follicles and increasing follicular size and hair shaft diameter, stimulating and prolonging hair growth. It has been shown to help prevent further hair loss in 4 out of 5 men and help stimulate regrowth for a thicker, fuller head of hair.

REGAINE® works best in men with recent hair loss or thinning at the top of the scalp but can be used by Men with a receding hair line, as this is typically an early stage of hereditary hair loss.
