How effective is Viviscal for treating hair loss?

Statistics show that over 4 in every 10 women will suffer from some form of hair loss by the age of 40.  This stat is said to be an increase on the figure of 3 out of 10, just a decade ago.  It is unclear why an increasing amount of women after suffering from thinning hair.

Viviscal Growth Supplement a leading multi-vitamin hair supplement on the market, and here, we look into this product, and try to establish how effective it really is for combating baldness in women.

What is Viviscal Hair Growth Supplement?

Viviscal is a multi-vitamin supplement designed to reduce hair loss and support healthy hair growth in women who suffer from early stages of baldness and thinning hair. There are actually two Viviscal supplements - one for men and the other for women, respectively.
Viviscal is not FDA approved as a treatment for baldness - therefore without being medically approved, it is regarded as a cosmetic, not a treatment. However, it does come with an 81% customer satisfaction rating, ranking it as one of the best hair growth supplements on the market.

Viviscal also has a small range of other products in their line, including hair booster serums, but for the sake of this review, we will stick to reviewing the female supplement only.

What are the ingredients in Viviscal?

Viviscal for Women contains a key blend of active ingredients which include Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Biotin, AminoMar C™, Vitamin C, Niacin, Iron, and Millet Seed. The full list of ingredients can be seen on the label below (left hand side).
This supplement is not revolutionary, but it does contain a host a well-established hair beneficiary ingredients that can help reduce hair shedding and promote healthy hair growth.

How does the Viviscal formula treat baldness?

The ingredients in this supplement are designed to help the maintenance of the cells for hair follicles. They can also help improve the blood flow to the scalp, thus potentially stimulating hair growth.  However, there is no scientific evidence to suggest either of the two Viviscal supplements can regrow hair.

Upon inspection, Viviscal is a good supplement for hair health, and much like its main competitors, HR23+ and Nutrafol, it only uses ingredients that have in some way or another been associated with hair health.

Viviscal side-effects?

There have been no reported major negative side-effects from users of this supplement, and it is very unlikely for a user to experience any sort of negative side-effects. However, it is always advised to speak to your doctor before taking supplements that you are unfamiliar with.

Viviscal price and where to buy

The standard price for a bottle of Viviscal Supplement is around £50.00 (58 Euro, or $65.00). One bottle will last for four weeks.  However, Viviscal can be purchased at a lower price with package deals of three bottles.

This product can be purchased on a subscription plan, which in itself has its pros and cons, but for what it is, we strongly believe Viviscal is fairly priced.

This product is available in the UK, US, Ireland, Australia, and Canada.

Viviscal Review: The Verdict

Viviscal is not a cure for baldness, and nor should it ever claim to be, however, it can help with the maintenance of hair health in women.  If taken with a well balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, this supplement has the potential to slow down hair shedding and improve overall hair growth, but only if the user is suffering from very early stages of thinning.

This supplement would need to be taken on a regular basis, and you should not expect to see any sort of visible results until at least 2-3 months of continuous use.  However, it is not guaranteed you will notice any visible results, particularly if you have exceeded Savin/Norwood 2.

The effectiveness of both the male and female supplements seems to be about the same, with perhaps the female version edging out the men's for popularity, but results will vary from person to person.

Viviscal 2019 Rating:  3.5/5
