5 of the Best Hair Supplements for Men

5 effective hair supplements for hair loss

By K. Ashton

I have tried so many products for hair loss over the past decade, and it's great to be able to inform my readers of what worked for me, and what didn't.

Non-medical supplements have become the most popular choice of product for hair loss sufferers, and for me, personally, multivitamin supplements have the most effective treatments that I have used.

In this post, I bring you the top five (in no particular order) hair health supplements that have been the most effective for me, personally. There isn't a cure for hair loss, but supplements can work well as hair loss preventatives.

HairXcel  ★★★★★

Many avid readers of my personal blog will already be aware of how highly I rate this supplement. I don't know why it took my so long to discover HairXcel, but I am glad I eventually did. Packed with a great range of anti-hair loss ingredients, HairXcel showed positive results in my hair after just three weeks of using it.

You'll find many of these ingredients packed into other similar supplements for hair health - because they actually work quite well. I usually avoid supplements make far fetched claims, and I tend to stick with the supplements with key ingredients that have shown to work in various studies.

Expect to pay around £30 per month for HairXcel, which is very affordable compared to its competitors. If you're suffering from early stages of hair loss like me, then HairXcel is worth a try - to maintain healthy hair growth, if nothing else.

NUTRAFOL  ★★★★★

NUTRAFOL has a supplement for men, and a separate one for women, respectively. I shall be covering the male supplement, for the obvious reason that I am indeed a man and have not tried the female supplement.

Nutrafol hair supplement

Again, I am always most impressed by ingredients when it comes to hair supplements, and even though this brand goes down the tired old route of making big claims, judging by its ingredients, it's not actually a bad hair supplement.

It should be noted that Nutrafol does not treat hair loss, and it does not regrow lost hair, however, it can help with the overall health of the hair, and slightly reduce excessive hair shedding.

The only negatives about this supplement(s) is that firstly it on the expensive side, and it's also very hard to purchase outside of the US. Expect to pay in the region of £65 per bottle (one month supply), which is far too much for a product of this nature.

Viviscal  ★★★★

Here is another well-known hair health supplement that you've probably seen advertised across various mediums, and when you strip all the marketing away, this is actually a very good supplement for hair, with a good array of hair beneficiary ingredients.

Viviscal Hair Supplement

I'll be honest - I didn't really give Viviscal a fair trial, as I was already using a different supplement that proved effective for my hair loss, but I have never doubted its ability to show excellent results in men (and women) who are battling hair fall and thinning hair.

I would say Viviscal is fairly priced at around £40 per month, especially when you take into account the ingredients they use. This potent supplement contains a key blend of DHT blockers and hair growth promoters, which can combine well to help reduce the pattern of hair fall and encourage healthy hair growth.

HR23+  ★★★★★

The new and improved HR23+ supplement is another big hitter in the hair loss arena, and the most effective supplement I have ever tried for my hair loss. Packed with tried and tested additives like Biotin, Saw Palmetto, and various other key macros and extracts, this product doesn't claim to be some revolutionary hair loss cure - but by heck, it really does work!

I started using HR23+ shortly after its release in early 2015, and the results I gained have been like no other. I knew the majority of ingredients in the supplement were going to be effective for me, as I had taken some of them separately to great effect, and so I was pleased to find a supplement that contained many of them and more so, making this a more affordable way to tackle hair loss and thinning hair.

HR23+ hair supplement

If you're looking to get on top of hair loss safely and effectively, then HR23+ should definitely be on your hitlist. None of the supplements on this list will cure male or female pattern baldness, but HR23+ is a good all-round hair health supplement that can prevent the falling of hair and promote stronger, healthier hair growth.

Procerin  ★★★★★

Procerin was the first supplement I ever tried for my hair loss and I was actually pretty pleased during the initial stages of using this product. I did find that the first three months were the most effective, with results fizzling off after that period.

Procerin

The thing that attracted me to Procerin was the fact it is a supplement that bases its science behind the potent DHT blocker, Saw Palmetto. This isn't a supplement that has a wide range of ingredients in it, therefore that might explain why the results only lasted a few months.

You can purchase Procerin for around £30 per month, so it's definitely an affordable solution for men looking to battle thinning hair. It might not be the most effective supplement on this list, but Procerin is definitely a safe product that is worth a try.
