Please note, these remedies have not been medically approved to cure or treat conditions of hair loss. They should serve as a reference only.  Having said that, there is no reason why these such remedies should not generate positive results.

Coconut and Argan Oil

Coconut oil can prevent and repair damaged hair, add shine, and reduce scalp inflammation. Argan oil contains fatty acids that soothes dry skin, moisturises your face and hydrates the hair. Keeping your hair hydrated is crucial for it to grow stronger and healthier. The combination of these two oils can benefit hair growth immensely.

To make an effective hair growth mask, add 5 drops of argan oil for every table spoon of coconut oil. Add a few drops of essential oil and apply onto the scalp. Leave in overnight and wash out in the morning. Repeat 4-5 times a week.

Green Tea

Green tea is a good source of panthenol, which is often used in shampoos and conditioners to strengthen hair and manage split ends.  Panthenol, along with the other antioxidants present in green tea, may help in strengthening the hair and making it healthier.  Green tea can be made into a simple yet effective home remedy for hair thinning. It contains a high amount of antioxidants that promote hair growth.

Studies have found that the polyphenolic compounds present in green tea show promise as a natural remedy for hair loss. Most multi-vitamin supplements and topical serums will contain some dosage of green tea. Rub your hair with warm, freshly brewed green tea. Leave it on for around ten minutes, then rinse it out with cool water. Do this twice a week for a minimum period of three months. For additional benefits, drink 2 to 3 cups of green tea daily to enjoy stronger, healthier growing hair.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is another good remedy for thinning hair. Aloe vera contains vitamins A, C and E, which all contribute to skin cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair. Aloe vera also balances the pH levels of the scalp and accelerates hair growth, which is ideal if you suffer from thinning and baldness.

Apply aloe vera gel directly on your scalp. Leave it for a few hours before washing your hair with lukewarm water. Repeat twice a week. Also, you can consume juice on a daily basis, prepared by blending one tablespoon of aloe vera gel in one cup of water or orange juice, on an empty stomach to enhance hair growth.

Onion Juice

Rich in antibacterial and antifungal properties, the use of onion for hair can help prevent balding. Onions are effective for hair follicle nourishment and restoring lost nutrients to your scalp. Onions are rich in Sulphur, which is known to minimise breakage, thus encourage stronger growth. They are also known to be naturally potent antioxidants, which is why they help reverse the effects of premature greying.

Onions contain unique properties that can add volume to the hair, particularly when applied to the scalp as a juice. Onions, with their rich anti-bacterial properties, can prevent dandruff and improve blood circulation, which is another way they contribute to hair growth.

Hair is made up of keratin protein and eggs are a great source of protein. Thus, they are highly beneficial in helping your hair grow. Give your scalp a good application of onion juice. Using your fingers, gently massage it into your scalp using circular movements. Let it sit for one hour.

Rinse it off with a mild shampoo with a nice fragrance to get rid of the pungent smell of onions. Do this about once or twice a week for a minimum period of around ten to twelve weeks.
