The most frequently asked questions about hair loss

Here, at the Hair Loss Review Centre, we get dozens of questions about hair loss from men and women, every single week. We often give detailed answers to any questions about hair loss on our website, but every once in a while, we answer multiple questions on one post.

So, to save us from repeating ourselves, here are some brief answers to the most fequently asked questions about hair loss.

What is the most common cause of hair loss?

There are many hair loss causes and types, but the most common one, particularly in men, it androgenic alopecia, better known as 'pattern baldness'.

What are some other common causes of hair loss?

Other common hair loss causes include; seasonal hair loss, menopausal thinning, postpartum baldness, stress-related shedding, and alopecia areata.

Is there a cure for hair loss?

At present, there is no cure for hair loss.

Can hair loss be treated?

Although there is no cure for hair loss, there are certain treatments that can help slow down and even stop the effects of excessive hair fall. Hair loss cannot be fully reversed, but some treatments and treatment plans can support the function of healthy hair growth, and promote some hair regrowth.

What are the most effective hair loss treatments?

Depending on what hair loss type you are treating, there are some viable hair loss treatments on the  market. Medical treatments like finasteride (for male baldness) and minoxidil can treat hair loss to a certain extent, but they do come with the risk of negative side-effects.

Non-medical treatments like keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) serum, ketoconazole shampoo, and HR23+ hair restoration supplement, can all help prevent hair loss and support hair growth, however, like with all hair loss treatments, results tend to vary from person to person.

Is my hair loss permanent or will it grow back?

Some types of hair loss are permanent, and other types are temporary. Androgenic alopecia, for example, is a permanent hair loss type, therefore a long term treatment plan is required to slow down and halt its effects.

Temporary hair loss types include; seasonal hair loss, postpartum hair loss (in most cases, however, some women experience longer term hair loss after giving birth), and stress-related hair loss. Both permanent and temporary hair loss types can be treated effectively.

What is the best course of action to stop hair loss?

To reduce hair loss and promote hair growth, a good hair loss treatment plan is needed. Results tend to vary from person to person, but there are some treatments that have been shown to universally treat hair loss, both effectively and safely.
